Abstract: Callus cultures and in vitro plant development of Momordica charantia L. were establishment on Murashige and Skoog’s (MS) medium using different concentrations and combinations of auxins and cytokinins. Further, qualitative and quantitative production of flavonoids in callus cultures and different in vitro developmental stages were studied by using thin layer chromatography and spectrophotometric analysis. Presence of three flavonoids was detected and the maximum amount of total flavonoid content was observed in 6-wkold callus cultures (2.90 mg/g dry wt). While in different in vitro morphogenetic stages, the maximum amount of total flavonoid content was observed in multiple shoots (2.96 mg/g dry wt).
