| Abstract: | A culture medium with banana agro-waste comprising psuedostem and leaves as substrate is used for production of cellulolytic enzymes using Trichoderma lignorum (Tode) Harz. Banana leaves as carbon source give best results with an enzyme activity of 0.20 U/ml FPase, 0.41 U/ml CMCase, and 0.24 U/ml b-glucosidase, respectively. Soy peptone was found to be the most suitable nitrogen source for enzyme production. The optimum pH of medium was found to be 5.6–5.8, whereas 45°C was the optimum temperature. |
