Abstract: A variety of sulfonamide linked azolyl pyrimidines have been prepared and studied for their antimicrobial activity. The chloro and nitro substituted thiazolyl pyrimidines (12c and 12e) display potential antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis. The chloro, bromo and nitro substituted imidazolyl pyrimidines (13c, 13d and 13e) show potential antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger.
