Abstract: A real time microcontroller based instrumentation system has been developed to measure protein in different tissues of Monocrotophos (organo phosphorous insecticides) treated Cyprinus carpio (fish). During exposure period, tissues of muscle, liver and intestine showed a significant amount of decrease in the biochemical constituent due to metabolic stress. The protein content slowly decreased in all tissues, due to enhanced proteolytic activity, perhaps due to decreased protein synthesis and complete utilization of its products for metabolic purposes. During recovery period, protein content showed an elevation in all tissues. Protein level was gradually regained after termination of sublethal exposure. Measurement details of protein using microcontroller are presented.
