Abstract: | N, N-Bis (2-hydroxy ethyl) neem fatty amide (HENFA) was prepared by reacting neem oil with diethanolamine in the presence of zinc oxide as catalyst. HENFA was used as curing agent with acid functional acrylic resin to prepare thermosetting coating compositions. Certain compositions were found to have comparable performance to that of conventional coating system cured by melamine formaldehyde resin. |
