Abstract: An automatic control for illumination is presented in order to improve energy management in industrial work areas with different illumination requirements. Regarding the power consumption parameter for illumination equipment with/without the control proposed, the theoretical results are very close to the measurements. In fact, the active time for a particular lamp was drastically decreased ≈ 12.5 hours less for power consumption without degrading the optimum illumination condition to perform a particular industrial activity with the precision and security required for the process and the human resource.
