dc.description.abstractComplexes of general formula, M(N-SBz)2X2 [M= Ni(II), Cu(II), X = NO3, 0.5 SO4; M= Cd(II), X= NO3, 0.5 SO4; and M(N-SBz)X2 [M= Cu(II), X = Cl, Br; M = Cd(II), X = Cl; N-SBz = N-methyl-S-benzyldithiocarbazate] have been synthesized and characterized by magnetic and spectroscopic methods. The copper[II] complexes, Cu(N-SBz)X2 have room-temperature magnetic moments of 1.78-1.81 B.M. Electronic and ESR spectroscopic data support polymeric tetra-gonal structures for these complexes. Some of complexes have been tested for their antifungal activities against three pathogenic fungi, viz. Alternaria solani, Curvularia geniaculata and Colletotrichum capsici.en_US
