dc.description.abstractChelating ion-exchange resins (2,4-DPPO-F) have been synthesized by the condensation of 2,4-dihydroxypro-piophenoneoxime (2,4-DPPO) and formaldehyde (F) in the presence of oxalic acid as catalyst with varying molar ratios of the reacting monomers. The resins have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, viscosity and TGA The molecular weights of resins have been determined by nonaqueous conductometric titrations and vapour pressure osmometry (VPO). Chelation ion-exchange properties have also been studied employing the batch equilibration method.en_US
