Abstract: The kinetics of the ligand substitution of RuIII (EDTA)(H2O)- (EDTA-ethylenediaminetetraacetate anion) with CN- has been studied spectrophotometrically as a function of ligand concentration, pH (5.0-11.0) and temperature (20-50°C). The kinetic and activation parameters are consistent with an associative interchange (Ia) mechanism.
