dc.description.abstractNovel benzenesulfonamide derivatives have been synthesized and characterized by various spectroscopical and analytical techniques, such as, FT-IR, UV-Vis, and NMR, and elemental analysis. The derivatives synthesized have been tested for in vitro antimicrobial activities against several microorganisms using the disc diffusion method, wherein a broad spectrum of activity has been observed with inhibition zones in the range 10–32 mm. Photoluminescence properties have been evaluated and a QSAR investigation on the compounds synthesized has been carried out to reveal correlations between various physicochemical parameters and antimicrobial activity.en_US
