Abstract: The first examples of telluroamine-1-(NMe2)-2-(TeAr)-4-Me-C6H3 (L) (Ar=4-EtO-C6H4) complexes of cobalt(III) and copper(II) of the type [Co(L)2 Br2]BPh4 and [Cu(L)2Br]BPh4 have been synthesized by air oxidation of mixtures of their anhydrous bromides, ligand and NaBPh4 in nitromethane. The complexes of cobalt(II) and copper(I) with the ligand have also been synthesized under dinitrogen atmosphere. All these complexes have been characterized by element analyses, molecular weight and molar conductance measurements, magnetic moment and spectral data (ESR, IR, UV-Vis, 1H and 59Co NMR).
