Abstract: This paper presents the results of experimental and analytical study on the mechanical behavior of grouted ceramisite concrete block masonry. 18 specimens subjected to compression and 24 specimens subjected to shear were tested to study the failure process and mechanical behavior of grouted ceramisite concrete block masonry. Test results showed that the failure process of composite block masonry was similar to the ordinary concrete hollow block masonry under compression, and showed obviously brittle failure mode under shear. However, the composite block masonry had better mechanical behavior and ductility. The theoretical analysis for compressive strength and shear strength of composite block masonry were included, which presented to guide future efforts on calculation.
