Despite of having enormous aquatic resources fisheries production is stumpy. Unfortunately, mariculture is almost absent in Pakistan. However, aquaculture sector contributes significantly in the agriculture GDP. In order to further boost the contribution of this sector in national economy concrete steps are direly needed.
