|Abstract:||The reaction of ruthenium(IlI) perchlorate with some poly tertiary phosphine ligands has been investigated. With N,N-(2-diphenylphosphinoethyl)-N-benzylamine (dpba) in methanol, a cationic complex [Ru(dpba)2] (ClO4.)3.CH3OH is obtained. Complexes of the type [Ru(L)(CIO4)(EtOH)] (ClO4) [where L= 1,1,4,7,10,10- hexaphenyl-1,4,7,10-tetraphosphadecane (tet-1) and tris(diphenylphosphinoethyl)phosphine (tet-2)] are obtained with the tetradentate Iigands tet-1 and tet- 2. The reaction of Wilkinson's green complex RuCl3(AsPh3 )2(MeOH) with dpba affords mixed ligand complex [Ru(AsPh3 )2 (dpba)(CIO4.)] (CIO4.)2CH3,OH. Complexes have been characterized on the basis of far IR, IR, 1H NMR spectral C, H, CI elemental analysis and conductivity data.|
