Abstract: Ternary complexes of Ni(II) and Cu(II) with isomaleonitrile dithiolate (i-MNT2-) as primary ligand and ammonia, pyridine (Py), ethylenediamine (En), 2,2'-bipyridyl (Bipy) or 1,10-phenanthroline (o-Phen) as secondary ligands have been prepared and characterized through elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, IR and electronic spectral studies. The results obtained suggest octahedral or mixed (Oh + D4h) stereochemistry around Ni(II) and squareplanar geometry around Cu(II).
