Abstract: Someoximates of cobalt(II), nickel(II)and copper(II) on reacting with antimony trichloride in dimethylformarnidegivebimetalliccomplexeswith the liberation of HCl. ϒ-Benzildioximates give bimetallic adducts. Cobalt(II) and nickel(II) Schiff base complexeson further reaction with antimony trichloride give bimetallic adducts in which a geometrical transformation in the stereochemistry from square-planar to octahedral around cobalt(II) and nickel(II) is observed. The bimetallic complexes are characterized by infrared, conductance, magnetic moments and electronic spectral data.
