Abstract:  A convenient eco-friendly procedure for the quantitative synthesis of novel quinoline derivatives has been developed by a simple one-pot reaction of substituted anilines with β-ketoesters at 60°C in ethanol using recyclable indium chloride as catalyst. The reaction proceeds smoothly under solvent free conditions with quantitative yields.
