dc.description.abstractThe synthesis of tetraphenylarsonium hexachlorozirconate and pentachlorozirconate has been described. Reaction of hexachlorozirconate anion with sodium methoxide results in the formation of (C6H5)2AsZrCI3 whereas reaction with ethoxide, trichloroethoxide and triftuoroethoxide anions in acetonitrile produces compounds of the type [(C6H5)4As]2ZrCl5(OR)(CH3CN)2 where R =CH3CH2, CCI3CH2 and CF3CH2.en_US
