Abstract: The oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) has been studied on LnBa2Cu3O7-x (Ln = Sm,Dy,Y) with and without steam in the feed. It has been observed that the presence of steam enhances the C2 selectivity. The samarium containing compound is found to be a better system among these three compounds because of the higher formation of BaCO3 during the reaction thus increasing the basicity of the system.
