|Title:||Synthesis and infrared spectral studies of some lanthanide complexes with leucine|
|Abstract:||Fourteen complexes of lanthanide nitrates and acetates with leucine have been isolated in solid state. These complexes have the general formula [Ln (Leu), (X)3], [Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Dy and Y, Leu = leucine and X = nitrate or acetate ion). Infrared spectral studies of these complexes reveal that leucine acts as a neutral bidentatc ligand towards all the lanthanide ions in presence of nitrate or acetate ions utilizing amino nitrogen and carboxyl oxygen for, bonding. In these complexes both nitrate and acetate ions act as unidentate ligands by way of bonding through one of the oxygen atoms of nitrate or acetate ion.|
