Abstract: The metal chelates of N-phenyl-5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-sulphonamide, (PPOS) with Mn(II), Fe(Il), Co(III), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(III) have been synthesised and characterized on the basis of analytical, conductance; magnetic and spectroscopic techniques. Co(II) and Zn(II) chelates exhibited fungicidal activity of the order of Dithane M-45 at 1000 ppm against Aspergillus niger and Fusarium oxysporum.
