Abstract: Volta metric reduction offerric perchlorate has been studied in nonaqueous solvents to understand solvent-F 3+ ion interaction affects the half-wave otential (E1/2) an heterogenous rate constant (ks). Th stokes radii (r) 0 the solvated species have also been ca culated using th diffusion coefficient (D) as detetmined by chronocou lometric data. The solvent par meters investigated are Gutman donor number (DN), Gutman acceptor number (AcN), Dimroth Reichardt parameter (ET) and solvent dielectric constant (ε). The correlation coefficient values, stokes radii values and ks values suggest that Gut an donor number (DN) can act as a good index for the degree of reversibility of the charge transfer process.
