Abstract: The reaction of Cp2NbCI2 with sodium salts of 3-indole carboxylic acids viz. 3-indole carboxylic acid (ICNa), 3-indole acetlc acid (IANa), 3-indole propionic acid (IPNa), 3.-indole butyric acid (IBNa) and L-tryptophan (TRNa) in 1: 1 and 1:2 ratios respectively led to the formation of the complexes of the types, [Cp2NbCI.L] and [Cp2NbL2] (where L = 3-indole carboxylate anion). The complexes formed, have been characterized on the basis of eiemental analysis, magnetic moment data and spectral techniques (IR and ESR). The magnetic moment data show paramagnetic character of the complexes.
