|Abstract:||A series of homo/hetero trinuclear metal complexes of the type MNiML2(H2O)n mH2O, [where M=copper(II), nickel(II) and cobalt(II), H2L= 1, 8-di-(2´-hydroxyphenyl)- 4, 5-diphenyl-2, 3, 6, 7-tetrazaoctan-1, 3, 5, 7-tetraene, X= CI-, Br- and NO, n =0 or 4 and m = 0, 1 or 1.5] have been isolated in a stepwise reaction from the precursor bis(1, 2-diphenyl ethane-1, 2-dione dihydrazone) nickel(II) complexes. They have been characterized by different physico-chemical analysis. All the metal complexes have an octahedral environment around the metal centres except for Ni-Ni-Ni system where a square planar geometry is proposed for the terminal nickel(lI) centres. Tetragonal parameters have also been calculated. Complexes containing copper(II) centres have been screened against some fungal pathogens as possible fungicides.|
