Title: Peroxo complexes of thorium(IV) and molybdenum(VI) phthalate with amine bases

Abstract: Some new mixed ligand peroxo complexes of thorium (IV) and molybdenum (VI) containing organic dibasic acid and heterocyclic amines have been prepared. The complexes have the composition, [M(O2) (TCPA) L] and [M¢O(O2) (TCPA)L], where M=Th (IV) or M¢ = Mo(VI); TCPA = dianion of tetrachlorophthalic acid; L=quinoline (Q) or Isoquinoline (lQ) or 2, 2¢ - bipyridine (bpy) or 1, 10-phenanthroline-(phen). The Th(IV) complexes have been found to oxidise allyl alcohol and triphenylphosphine as well as triphenylarsine to their respective oxides. The Mo(VI) complexes do not oxidise allyl alcohol, but oxidise triphenylphosphine and triphenylarsine to their respective oxides.
