Abstract: The reaction of dibutylgermanium dichloride with two molar equivalents of ammonium dialkylthiophosphates in benzene. yields dibutylgermanium bis(dialkylthiophosphates), [Bu”2Ge{(OSP(OR)2}2] (R=Et, Pr", Pr', Bu").The latter complexes have been characterized by phosphorus analysis, IR and NMR (1H, 13C and 31P) data. The spectroscopic data suggest that these complexes contain four-coordinate germanium with monodentate dialkylthiophosphate ligand.
