Abstract: The ultrasonic velocity and absorption studies have been carried out in solutions containing glycine, ʟ-alanine, and ʟ-proline in aqueous ethanol at 303 .15K. These measurements are used to evaluate the adiabatic compressibility, excess absorption, and volume viscosity. Results are interpreted in terms of solutesolute and solute-solvent interactions. These studies establish that the amino acids have strong water structure making and breaking properties.
