Abstract: A quantitative study on the liquid phase chemical effects of anodic contact glow discharge electrolysis (CGDE) .in aqueous formic acid solutions shows that oxalic acid as well as hydrogen peroxide are formed in quantities significantly in excess of the Faraday law value. Results are discussed in the light of Hickling's radiolytic mechanism.
