| Abstract: | A number of attempts have been made in the past to describe
scientific productivity. These studies suggest that law of
scientific productivity follows an inverse law of growth and
measures- the frequency of occurrence of scientific output. In
this paper, Lotka's law of scientific productivity among authors
and within institutions has been examined with the help of
empirical data. Based on these findings an attempt is made
to rationalise the law. |
