Abstract: Hydrolysis of N-(2/4-hydroxy)benzylidine 2-aminobenzothiazoles in acidic, alkaline and neutral medium has been performed in microemulsions involving cetyltrimethylammonium bromide/sodium lauryl sulphate-hexane-isobutanol-water system. The transition between different regions of sodium lauryl sulphate microemulsions has been characterized by conductivity method. The solubilization sites of the schiff bases in the microemulsions have been worked out with spectroscopic data. Rate of hydrolysis of the schiff bases have been carried out in o/w and w/o microemulsions under different pH conditions.
