|Title:||Porphyrin sheet polymer and their complexes: I-Synthesis and properties of polymeric tetrakisphenylporphyrin films cross-linked by terephthalate|
|Abstract:||Porphyrin sheet polymer has been prepared by interfacial polymerization of reactive monomers, namely, terephthalyl chloride and tetrakis-(4-hydroxyphenyl) porphyrin (THPP). The thin polymeric film (H2PTBCOPP) is insoluble in water and in some organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, chloroform and hexane and slightly soluble in DMF, THF or pyridine. Its complexes (MPTBCOPP) with metals have been obtained by reaction of the polymeric ligand (H2PTBCOPP) with MAc2.nH2O (M=Cu11, Co11, Zn11). The visible, IR and fluorescence spectra show that the polymerization has been accomplished and transition metals have reacted with the polymer. The scanning electron micrographs show that the films have two-dimensional structure. The doped H2PTBCOPP and MPTBCOPP (M = Cu, Co, Zn) are semiconducting polymers with electrical conductivity of 4.63 x 10-6~ 4.83 x 10-4S cm-1 at room temperature and are stable in air.|
