Abstract: Diffusion of copper sulphate through a cellulose nitrate microfilter supporting immobilized sodium dodecyl sulphate has been studied with the object of exploring possibilities of the determination of electrokinetic character of membrane solution interface. Correlation between Zeta potential and diffusion coefficient has been established to show that determination of electrokinetic character of the interface is possible. This approach is especially useful in situation wherein the membrane system is not amenable to electrokinetic studies.
