Abstract: Pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde thiobenzoyl hydrazone (2-PTBH) forms 1: 1 adducts with Cu(II) chloride and bromide and 1:2 adducts as well as deprotonated complexes with Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(ll) and Zn(II). Magnetic, electronic and ESR spectral studies suggest high-spin octahedral geometry for all the Ni(II) and Co(ll) complexes and distorted octahedral geometry for Cu(II) complexes.
