|Title:||Synthesis and spectroscopic investigations on mixed ligand complexes of Pd(II) and Pt(II)|
Rajendiran, T. M.
Rao, P. Sambasiva
|Abstract:||Mixed ligand complexes of Pt(II) and Pd(ll) with α,α'- diarnines and various hydroxyquinones such as 1,4- dihydroxy-9, 10-anthraquinone (quinizarine), 5,8-dihydroxy l,4-naphthaquinone (naphthazarine) and 5-hydroxy-1,4- naphthaquinone (juglone) have been synthesized and characterized. Infrared spectral analysis of these complexes shows six membered chelate coordination through both benzenoid and quinoid oxygen atoms. Electronic spectral studies show low lying charge transfer transitions of various origins. Complexes photodissociate slowly in visible light.|
