Abstract: Mixed oxide CeO<sub>2</sub>-TiO<sub>2</sub> has been employed in the coupled semiconductor configuration for photocatalytic decomposition of methylene blue. This coupling has enabled decomposition with visible light while with pure TiO<sub>2</sub> only UV radiation can effect this decomposition. Synergy between the two oxides and the importance of adsorption in photocatalytic decomposition of MB are demonstrated.
