Abstract: Variations in the drift and anisotropy parameters of the small scale irregularities are observed in the successive samples, each of 1 min duration, of the fading records of E and F regions of the 'ionosphere. A parameter '∑' is defined as the sum of the percentage changes in Va, Va, V, Vc, r and a plus the total angular changes in φa, φ and ψ and when ∑ is plotted against the time interval between the records, an. irregular variation is noticed from the plot. Various possible causes for the variations observed are discussed.
