|Abstract:||Horizontal drift data covering a period of half-a-solar cycle including both JOY and IQSY are treated by the correlation function method with a view to inferring' solar cycle dependence, if any, of drift and anisotropy of irregularities in E- and P-regions. It is found that there is no significant change in the statistical features of true drift speed, random, velocity and axial ratio with the phase of the solar cycle for both E- and F-regions. A comparison of the salient features of the present study for the local summer with those of an earlier investigation for local winter reveals a seasonal dependence of the effect of solar activity on drift and anisotropy of E- and F-region irregularities.|
