Title: Study of Statistical Properties of Ground Diffraction Patterns Using an Array of Five Aerials

Abstract: The properties of ground diffraction patterns of ionospherically reflected radio waves estimated by the closely spaced receiver method are found to show some dependence on the configuration and spacing of aerials in the receiving array. The statistical properties of ground diffraction patterns as estimated simultaneously on two receiving arrays of different dimensions in the equilateral triangle configuration are compared. It is found' that the drift and anisotropy parameters show dependence on the size of the triangle chosen. It is suggested that the deviation might be due to the presence of more than one class of irregularities, each class moving with different velocities, at the level of reflection.
