Abstract: The association between solar microwave bursts and sudden ionospheric disturbances has been studied as regards the dependence on (a) peak flux, (b) monitoring frequency and (c) spectral nature of the bursts. It is found that the association increases with the peak amplitude and with the monitoring frequency of the burst in the range 606-15400 MHz. A significant dependence of the association on the spectral nature of the bursts has also been noticed.
