Title: Excitation Characteristics of Plasma Waveguide by a Semi-infinite Waveguide

Abstract: The problem of wave propagation in a plasma waveguide excited by a semi-infinite guide has been solved taking into account the anisotropy of the plasma. It is shown that hybrid modes exist in the plasma waveguide. When the plasma is diagonally anisotropic, the conditions for reflection reduce to those of isotropic medium. In such a case if it is excited by E waves, only E waves are produced and if excited by H waves, then only H waves are produced.
