Abstract: | Microwave absorption has been computed in the frequency range 21-117 GHz for the Venusian atmosphere in the height range 0-85 km. The various coefficients like total absorption ϒ, absorption coefficient at peak resonance frequency ϒ0, and half-width of absorption line Δv, have been calculated for all the important constituents (O2, H2O vapour and CO) of Venusian atmosphere and a comparison has been made with the values of the terrestrial atmosphere. The values of the coefficients ϒ, ϒ0 and Δv are found to be smaller than the corresponding values for terrestrial atmosphere. |
