Abstract: The weight of S. prashadi in monthly samples from Gulf of Suez varied from 1867 (February 1987) to 22143 g (December 1988). Length-weight relationship was W = 0.6623 L2.199. Longevity of S. prashadi was about 1.5 y. Asymptotic length, natural mortality and fishing mortality were 12.91 cm, 3.036.y-1 and 2.368.y-1, respectively. The yield per recruit analysis showed that the cuttlefish fishery in the Gulf of Suez was still underexploited, and in order to obtain maximum yield per recruit, the age at capture (t(c)) could be increased to at least 0.6 y.
