Title: Error Analysis of D-region Electron Density Profiles from Gyrowave Interaction Experiment

Abstract: It is currently believed that the gyrowave interaction experiment is one of the very few techniques able to give reliable N(h) distributions in the lowest region of the ionosphere, below 70 krn, Thus it is important to assess the relative errors introduced and their importance in the parameters used in data processing. The two important parameters assumed in the experiment are the electron gyro-frequency fH and the electronneutral collision frequency vm (h) in the interacting region. Although their mean values are fairly well known, the occurrence of their short term fluctuations cannot be ruled out. The errors introduced in the N(h) reduction are assessed by allowing vm and fH to vary within the expected limits.
