Abstract: On the basis of a simplified ray theory, the design and the focusing properties of a microwave Paraboloidal zone plate, with a spherical wave front incident on its convex side, is presented. Numerical values for the variation of relative field amplitude with axial distance and also the variation of field amplitude with frequency have been computed and the results are discussed.
