Abstract: AI absorption of 4·0 MHz radio wave signals has been examined in relation to Rz, 10.7 cm solar radio flux, solar X-ray energy flux, neutron flux, etc. It is seen that amongst the various solar fluxes, the absorption is more closely correlated to 10.7 cm radio flux. The effect of X-ray flux on day-to-day variation, especially on disturbed days, is quite remarkable. This effect is most prominent in the winter months. Variation of response of absorption to solar indices with frequency is also noted.
