|Title:||A Study of 40 MHz RB Records in Relation to Ionospheric Characteristics at Gauhati|
Barbara, A K
|Abstract:||Faraday fadings of 40 MHz signals from INTASAT were recorded at Gauhati during Aug.Oct.1976. Large and small scale irregularities were studied from the RB records. The number of large scale irregularities is found to be higher during daytime hours than during nighttime hours even for the same electron density condition. On the other hand, the size of the irregularities is observed to be higher during nighttime than during daytime hours. These irregularity events do not seem to follow either electron density variation or the gravity waves. Small scale irregularities show the general pattern which may be expected according to the weak scattering diffraction theory.|
