Abstract: A study has been made of F-region characteristics at a low latitude station, Hyderabad (geogr. lat., 17°.4 N; geogr. long., 78°.3 E) during magnetically quiet and disturbed days of May 1968. The ionograms are analyzed using the modified Budden's matrix inversion method. The diurnal variation of electron densities shows midday minimum with prominent evening peak in Ne at different heights during quiet days while single midday maximum is observed during disturbed days. The post-sunset peak and noontime deviations of hmF2 from the parabolic shape, reported earlier at equatorial stations, are noticeable in the present observations.
