Title: Anomalous Behaviour of Electric Field in the Neighbourhood of Totality of Solar Eclipse

Abstract: Observations of surface electric field near ground were made at Raichur (lat., 16°12'N; long., 77°21'E; 389.5 m asl) during the total solar eclipse of 16 Feb. 1980. The electric field decreased reaching a minimum 9 min before totality and increased subsequently, reaching 200% of the minimum value at totality and again decreased nearly to the same value within 5 min following totality. An attempt has been made to explain this intriguing feature.
