| Abstract: | Single scattering theory is applied to the problem of ionospheric scintillations. The characteristics of scintillation indices computed with two power spectra, namely, Gaussian and Kolmogorov, are studied in detail. Theoretically computed scintillation index is compared with that observed at 327 MHz at Ooty. It is found that the scintillation index computed with the Kolmogorov spectrum is in closer agreement with that observed at Ooty. |
