Abstract: The study of atmospheric turbulence is of considerable interest in the design of many types of remote sensors. Using airborne microwave refractometers, turbulence parameters in the lower troposphere have been estimated over the northern plains in India (a typical tropical country) during the winter periods (a typical tropical country) during the winter periods of 1971-72 and 1985. A comparison of these parameters and the results obtained are presented).
